MEET JOHN
Working together for Our Community
Hi, my name is John George and I am running for Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) for Single Member District (SMD) 2A03 which includes the DC neighborhoods of Foggy Bottom and the West End. Encouraged by my neighbors to run for this position, I am looking forward to representing the entire community.
I am a home-owner on 26th Street NW in Foggy Bottom for the past 24 years along with my husband, Peter; son, Isaac; and dog, Titan. I have been an IT consultant for over 35 years with the same company, CGI, now leading their U.S. Health Strategy. My consistency and collaborative nature allows me to effectively navigate difficult issues.
I am committed to our Foggy Bottom/West End neighborhoods and I understand the immediate quality of life issues for 2A03 residents through countless conversations with neighbors. I have also represented these issues at Foggy Bottom Association meetings, ANC meetings, GWU Forums, and by testifying in front of the DC City Council.
I am actively involved in community service as a hospital volunteer, a Sunday school teacher at Holy Trinity, and I regularly participate in the 26th Street Park/Dog Park clean-ups, tree plantings, and other community events. I support the arts. I am also an avid runner, enjoy Orange Theory workouts, and love to walk our dog around our neighborhood.
I am consistent, collaborative, and community minded.
I am ready to be your voice on the DC's ANC.
